The man who established Nilfisk-Advance, P.A. Fisker, started as an electrical engineer who really liked to work on electrical motors. After starting his business in 1906, he began to make motors to drive machine tools, drills, coffee grinders and fans. Mr. Fisker's dream from the start was to have an international company advertising goods globally.

The Nilfisk C1 was a tremendous breakthrough for the cleaning business. This ground breaking vacuum cleaner, invented by Mr. Fisker, weighed only 17.5 kilos and could be operated by a single individual. This creation came in a time where numerous cleaning equipment were huge and required at least 4 operators, thus, the Nilfisk C1 changed everything and evolved the manner we clean forever. The brain behind these first cleaning equipment remains unparalleled. Cleaning equipment offer an excellent solution to an ongoing crisis; things get dirty and should be cleaned regularly, without too much effort.

Gradually but steadily, Nilfisk-Advance expanded through the years. During the 1980s, this expansion actually happened when the company became a part of the NKT Group. Their new owners' drive and focus made Nilfisk-Advance take a huge leap forward within the industry, aspiring to be among the leading universal players in the market of professional cleaning machines.
